Boy, if I never see another political ad on TV again for the rest of my life, I could die a happy person. Okay, so that may sound like a little bit facetious reason for supporting this, but I do indeed believe that political campaigning is getting way too expensive, that the amount of money being spent these days is absolutely ridiculous. And too much of the public is extremely suspicious about whether the members of Congress are truly interested in "representing the people" instead of being obliged to do whatever wealthy campaign contributors want. I don't agree with the view that a campaign contribution is "the moral equivalent of a bribe," but something must be done to restore the public's faith that Senators and Representatives are truly representing their constituents.

Because I don't see any problems with presidential campaigns that are any different or any worse than congressional campaigns.
