Venlafaxine (brand names: Effexor, Effexor XR, LanvexinTrevilor, Efectin, Oriven, Velafax, and other) is an antidepressant of the serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) class. This means it increases the concentrations of the neurotransmitters serotonin and norepinephrine in the body and the brain.
