Should parents be legally allowed to spank their children?

Some children never need to be spanked. They are the rare ones though. The bible instructs parents that if they spare the rod they spoil the child. Mankind is fundamentally evil and the time to help him/her to conquer the innate evil tendencies is in childhood. Failure to help our children defeat this enemy is the real child neglect and abuse. We commit them to a future of misery by their own design...uncontrolled and uncontrollable.
