Do you consider Americans a stubborn nation?

I would have to see real, valuable, rigorous studies of "stubbornness" in a cross-cultural context. I am not aware of any such studies thus far. It's easy to pick, as Patrick does, things like the Fahrenheit scale or our usage of the Imperial system, but conventions like that do tend to be hard to change.
