H.R.4315 - Endangered Species Transparency and Reasonableness Act

For the record I'm not in favor of endangering any species, but the Endangered Species Act and it's cousins has lately turned into a political football. It's more commonly used to stop or seriously delay one project or another that the opposition wants stopped for one reason or another. Find some little critter that inhabits the area, determine that they happen to be scarce, and viola--project delayed for years. Sometimes I wonder why we've decided to allow ourselves to play GOD. 99.9% of all species to have inhabited the planet in its history have become extinct. And humans have had little to do with the vast majority of those.
