At this point in the discussion I would have to say that this argument has become relative. While there is much more availability for pc players than the later, the attraction for the simplicity of console gaming is what draws people in.
In our society people try to turn gaming into an entertainment for kids. This is why when [hardcore] pc gaming is not preferred by some because people just want to game on the side.
So it really comes down to what the last option, it's all about the games! Have fun!
