I don't think gender affects too much how much a person is "better" than another, rather, how that person would act against THE BACKDROP OF THEIR GENDER. Our society has many expectations and stereotypes about different genders, and these affect our perceptions of people before they have done anything or spoken a word. I think women and men could be equally good people, but our society is clouded by history of male supremacy, and this, along with the push to equalize, have drastically affected societal views about men and women, and the relationship and comparison between the two.
