Lawrence "Larry" Lessig (born June 3, 1961) is a Harvard law professor, a political activist, and a candidate for the presidency of the United States. He is the Roy L. Furman Professor of Law at Harvard Law School and the director of the Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard University. As an attorney, he is a member of the Illinois Bar.

In August 2015, Professor Lessig announced that he was exploring a possible candidacy for President of the United States in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, promising to run if his exploratory committee raised $1 million by Labor Day. After accomplishing this, on September 6, 2015, Lessig announced that he was entering the race become a candidate for the 2016 Democratic Party's presidential nomination.
