Alicia Amanda Vikander (born 3 October 1988) is a Swedish actress and dancer. Vikander began her career by appearing in Swedish short films and television series, most notably in the popular TV drama Andra Avenyn (2008–11). She made her feature film debut in the film Pure (2010), for which she won the Guldbagge Award for Best Actress. Vikander gained international attention when she appeared in the 2012 adaptation of Anna Karenina, co-starred in the Academy Award-nominated Danish film A Royal Affair (2012) and in the Julian Assange biopic The Fifth Estate (2013).

In 2015, she gained public recognition for portraying Vera Brittain in Testament of Youth and an AI in Ex Machina, for which she has received Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations for Best Supporting Actress. Vikander also portrayed painter Gerda Wegener in The Danish Girl, receiving Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations for Best Actress and a nomination for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role.
