As an the original Baldur's Gate geek, no, I'm not excited about the Siege of Dragonspear. Why? Because Beamdog is doing it. This team don't know how to make good games. Instead of keeping the BG legacy alive, they're simply damaging it, more and more with each of their "works". You can read my article called Beamdog is destroying the legacy of Baldur's Gate.
You can already notice Siege of Dragonspear is no different - all the Beamdog "contributed" to the promo video is very poor. They're just taking good things and make them worse, earning easy money by doing so.
