JEOPARDY! is America's favorite quiz show, mostly because it is trademarked as such, in which contestants are presented with general knowledge clues in the form of answers and must phrase their responses in the form of questions. Correct responses earn contestants money while incorrect responses cost them money. At the end of three rounds the contestant with the most amount of money wins that value as a cash prize and returns to play in the next match. When a contestant wins a match for the very first time, they are bestowed the title of JEOPARDY! champion. The contestant retains this title during the next match and during all subsequent matches for as long as they remain undefeated whereupon losing a match the title is then inherited by the contestant who defeated them.
