Not only should companies be telling us what is being pumped into the ground, but they should be doing so loudly. These chemicals should be available on their website. They should be being transparent.

Why not? Maybe it will shut up all the nutcases who watched Gasland and think they know something when they find out what is really in those fluids.
Those chemicals are already disclosed. EPA and state government Dept. of Environmental Conservation agencies require energy companies to file Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for every chemical used on the drill site.
Too bad they won't disclose that same data to the EPA. And that court cases have had to be won to make it so their chemicals aren't trade secrets. State and federal rules are inconsistent and companies flout them constantly even when they are actually even enforceable.
