There should be regulations (and there are) concerning the health condition of the animals that are food, or that give us food, if for no other reason than to protect the consumers from illness.

If that means their living and processing conditions change via regulations then so be it. Do chickens need to live in condos to supply eggs to an ever growing population?

Depends, naturally, if you're one of the people who will come out on top when the population is reversed - I would imagine.

Then, more so than now, the 'division of wealth' will be far more apparent in that the ruling elite will keep a small group of 'serfs' to take care of keeping them 'elite'.

Most likely sooner than you think, so you'll probably get what you want.
