Someone having their own opinions and deities is great! I've met people who have had their life changed due to their state of mind being altered for the better when they started following a religion.

The only issue I have is when people try and force their opinion on you. It's like someone forcing you to eat Marmite until you like it(or dislike it)

Also, don't confuse expression of opinion with forcing an opinion.

"I love Marmite, Do you?" Is different from "I love Marmite, Why don't you?"

It all depends on the context.

If someone is thanking everyone that matters to them, all the connections that produced their work, and acting as if their success is a blessing, then I do. I don't necessarily agree that some supernal entity actually had the focus and attention to guide them, but I don't see much harmful about the idea. I do worry that it might reduce their attention on the specific agents in their life, their own hard work and the contributions of others, but I believe it is possible to correct for that bias.

But if someone is acting as if their success is somehow thereby objectively exalted, if they are expressing an endorsement of the divine and an entitlement, then I find it grotesque. It is blasphemous, arrogant, evil, ignorant, and vile.

I generally find it distasteful and unpleasant. I know that most don't see it this way, but I cannot help thinking "Well, what about all the people who failed/were injured/suffered?" Were they just not praying hard enough? It feels a lot like victim-blaming, and comes across as humble bragging.

I don't think it makes much sense but it doesn't irk me like when somebody thanks God for something that they should be thanking someone else for. For example: successful medical operations, food prepared for them if they're eating out, etc.
